Prescott College is a private, non-profit, liberal arts college located in Prescott, Arizona. Founded in 1966, the college offers adult degree programs, resident degree programs, master of arts programs and a community-based limited residency Ph.D program and teacher certification courses.
Although Prescott College is recognized for its environmental courses like Agroecology, Conservative Biology, Earth Science, Ecological Design, Environmental Policy, Geography, Human Ecology, Marine Studies, Natural History, Ecology, and Environmental Education, it also offers such programs as Adventure Education, Outdoor Experiential Education, Wilderness Leadership, Adventure-Based Environmental Education, Outdoor Program Administration, Adventure-Based Tourism, Cultural and Regional Studies, Religion, and Philosophy, Women’s Sudies, Elementary and Secondary Teacher Certification, School Counseling (M.A. & Post-Graduate Certification), and many other diverse fields of study.
Cost of tuition and fees for academic year 2009-2010 for students of the college’s Adult Degree Program is US$5,340 per term for fulltime students and US$445 per credit for part-time students. Those enrolled at the school’s Master of Arts program are charged tuition and fees of US$7,356 per term for fulltime students and US$613 per credit for part-time students. Those enrolled in the Resident Degree program pay tuition and fees of US$11,616 per term for fulltime students and US$968 for part-time students. For the community-based limited residency Ph.D. program, the cost of tuition is US$9,684 per term for fulltime enrollees and US$807 per credit for those enrolled part-time. Financial aid is extended by the college to its students in the form of loans, grants and scholarships to help them pay for their cost of tuition.
