Pine Manor College or PMC is a private, liberal arts women’s college located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Established in 1911 by Helen Temple Cooke, the school was originally a part of the Dana Hall School and known as Pine Manor Junior College. In 1962, it became independent of Dana Hall and in 1965 moved to its present location in Chestnut Hill.
With a mission to prepare women for roles of leadership and social responsibility, PMC offers two-year and four-year degrees for its women students. It grants the Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) degree, Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree, and Associate in Science (A.S.) degree. Over 50 undergraduate majors are available at PMC. Some of these are biology, communication, economic and financial systems, English, history, psychology, visual arts and many others. The college also offers internship and continuing education programs.
Cost of attendance at Pine Manor College for academic year 2009-2010 for fulltime, undergraduate students is US$32,909 for resident students availing themselves of on-campus housing. This cost includes tuition of US$20,189; room and board of US$11,670; residency deposit of US$250; and book voucher of US$800.
