Park University is a private and independent, four-year institution of higher education located in Parkville, Missouri. Originally founded in 1875 as a small Midwestern college known as Park College on property donated by George S. Park, the school has grown steadily and is now an electronic learning institution providing traditional and online classes to over 1,200 students and members of the U.S. military.
With its main campus at Parkville covering an area of over 800 acres, the university also maintains over 40 branch campuses in more than 20 states. Offering a wide variety of degrees and programs, the university is organized and divided into six academic schools and colleges that include the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, the Graduate School, the Hauptmann School, School of Education, School of Extended Learning, and School of Business & Management.
Cost of tuition for school year 2009-2010 is US$298 per credit hour for undergraduate students and US$416 per credit hour for graduate students. Those enrolled in Military Campus Centers pay tuition on a per credit hour rate of US$192 while those in the Marine Corps pay US$193. For online students, cost of tuition is US$298 per credit hour for non-military courses, US$192 for active-duty military, and US$193 for members of the Marine Corps. Online graduate students pay tuition at a rate of US$416 per credit hour. Those enrolled in the Associate of Science in Nursing Program pay an annual tuition cost of US$19,842 inclusive of all nursing and general education courses and electives except lab fees.
Financial aid is extended in the form of loans, grants and scholarships to students to help them pay for their cost of tuition.
