Saint Louis College of Pharmacy is a private and independent, non-sectarian learning institution located in St. Louis Missouri. It was founded in 1864 by a group of prominent St. Louis leaders who wanted to make Pharmacy a formal educational program and not just the subject of medical school lectures and assistantships.
Now over 144 years old, Saint Louis College of Pharmacy has over 6,400 living alumni in over 50 American states and 11 foreign countries and has a student population of over 1,234 ably assisted in their quest for higher education by 86 full-time faculty members.
The college offers a six-year academic program that integrates the liberal arts and sciences component of the curriculum with a professional program leading to a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
Cost of tuition for a Saint Louis College of Pharmacy degree is US$10,763 for the first and second years; US$11,813 for the third, fourth and fifth years; and US$7,875 for the sixth year. Cost per credit hour is US$750 for years 1 and 2; then US$800 for years 3, 4, 5, and 6. Students who want to avail of on-campus housing will be charged an additional fee that ranges from US$2,200 to US$4,400. Financial aid in the form of loans, grants and scholarships is extended to help students pay for their cost of tuition and fees.
With approximately 72% of practicing pharmacists in the St. Louis region graduating from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, the college has become one of only few colleges of pharmacy that exists independently and is not part of a larger university.
