Saint Peter’s College is a private, coeducational Catholic college located in two campuses – its main campus in Jersey City and its branch campus in Englewood Cliffs, both in New Jersey. The college was founded in 1872 by the Society of Jesus and is one of 28 American Jesuit colleges and universities. It is, however, the only Jesuit college in New Jersey.
Saint Peter’s College offers 38 Bachelor’s degree programs. Its College of Arts and Sciences/School of Administration holds traditional day classes for undergraduate students while its School of Professional and Continuing Studies offers undergraduate programs for adult students. For its graduate students, the college offers Master’s degree programs in Education, Business Administration, Accountancy and Nursing.
To date, there are approximately 3,011 fulltime and part-time students enrolled in the college under the guidance of 113 fulltime professors. With a student to faculty ratio of 15 to 1, students enjoy a personalized, one-on-one interaction with their teachers.
Cost of attendance is an annual estimate of direct costs that include tuition, mandatory fees, room and board plus indirect costs such as books, transportation and miscellaneous expenses. At Saint Peter’s College, cost of attendance for academic year 2009-2010 for freshman students living on campus is US$40,049; for those living at home, US$31,245; and for those living independently is US$38,295. This is broken down into cost of tuition, comprehensive fee, orientation fee, books and supplies, room and board, transportation and miscellaneous expenses. For graduate students, cost of tuition per credit hour is US$920. To ensure that students are able to pay their cost of attendance, financial aid is extended via loans, grants and scholarships.
