Mount Saint Mary College was founded in 1960 by the Sisters of Saint Dominic. It is a private, four-year liberal arts institution offering more than 50 undergraduate degree programs and 3 graduate degree programs. It is guided by the Catholic and Dominican traditions as it seeks to provide cultural-professional education.
Located at 330 Powell Ave, Newburgh, New York, the college campus can be found in the lower Hudson Valley, midway between New York City and Albany. Its location offers unparalleled opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain climbing and skiing, among others. The neighboring areas are especially rich with cultural and social activities as well. Mount Saint Mary College also maintains its Desmond Campus located just two miles north of the main campus.
Undergraduate majors include a considerable list of areas of study from Accounting to Sociology. Five-year programs that allow students to earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in five years are offered in Accounting/ MBA, Biology BA/ MS in Adolescence Education, and Chemistry BA/ MA in Adolescence Education. Collaboration programs with Pace University, Fordham University or New York Medical College are likewise offered. These programs can accelerate completion of education requirements at reduced costs. The offered graduate programs lead to MBA, MS in Education and MS in Nursing.
Undergraduate cost for an academic year is estimated at $ 33,514.00 inclusive of tuition based on a 30-credit year, room and board, and general fees. Accelerated programs cost $ 535.00 per credit. An additional one time fee of $ 225.00 is charged to all first-time freshmen.
The Desmond Campus houses the Center for Community and Educational Services (CCES) and offers non-credit programs in day, evening and Saturday classes. A private elementary college called the Bishop Dunn Memorial School can be found at the south end of the main campus.
