Polytechnic University of New York, also known as NYU-Poly, is the second oldest private institute of technology located in Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 1854, the university is renowned for its distinguished record in electrical engineering, polymer chemistry, aerospace, and microwave engineering. It is also known for its outreach programs to encourage math and science education in New York elementary and high schools and is regarded as one of the finest resources in science, research, technology, and management education.
Aside from its main campus at MetroTech Center in Brooklyn, NYU-Poly also offers courses at various sites in Manhattan, Long Island, and Westchester, and a number of programs in Israel. It grants Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in science, Master’s degrees in Engineering and a Doctorate of Philosophy in a broad range of programs.
Cost of attendance at NYU-Poly for academic year 2009-2010 for new, fulltime undergraduate students taking 12 to 20 credits is US$16,637 plus required fees of US$573 per semester and US$1,058 per credit for part-time undergraduate students plus fees of US$357. For Graduate students, cost of tuition is US$1,132 per credit plus required fee of US$563 per semester. Students enrolled in online courses pay the same cost of tuition as those enrolled in the regular on-site classes. They just add an institute fee of US$214 per semester. Depending on the student’s chosen program and level of attendance, certain fees may also be charged in addition to tuition and regular fees. Those who want to avail of on-campus housing will be charged an additional cost for room and board of either US$4,522 for students living in residential halls to US$5,586 for those who choose apartment type dwellings.
Financial aid is extended to students to help them pay for their cost of attendance.
