Pratt Institute is a private art college located in New York City, New York with campuses in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Utica. Founded in 1887 by natural oil industry pioneer Charles Pratt in response to a growing need for trained industrial workers in an evolving economy, the institute today is regarded as one of the top graduate art schools in the country.

Cost of attendance for academic year 2009-2010 for fulltime, undergraduate students enrolled at Pratt Institute except new undergraduate Architecture students is US$48,886 for those living on campus; US$44,630 for commuters; and US$51,230 for students living off campus. For undergraduate architecture students, cost of attendance for on-campus students is US$52,386; for commuters, US$46,130; and for off-campus students, US$54,730. These costs include tuition, academic/activity fees, books and supplies, personal expenses, health services fee, transportation, technology fee, and room and board. Graduate students are charged a tuition rate of US$1,195 per credit hour for all graduate programs except Information & Library Science which is US$960 per credit.
Financial aid in the form of loans, grants and scholarships is extended to students to help them pay for their cost of attendance.
