Founded in 1891 by financier and philanthropist Anthony J. Drexel, Drexel University is a private research university in Philadelphia PA. Drexel is known for its cooperative education program, possibly the best in the nation, with a broad range of corporate partners. Students at Drexel follow a unique 5-year track that includes 18 months of real corporate internship experience, giving them an exceptional degree of experience and a wide network of business contacts upon graduation.
The Lebow College of Business is the oldest and still most prominent department of Drexel University. Business Week, Financial Times, and Entrepreneur magazine have all recognized the Lebow College’s excellence, and a major donation of $45 million in 2010 will allow the college to continue expanding and improving. The Lebow College emphasizes technological innovation and real-world experience, both of which are apparent in their approach to online education.
Drexel has been offering online courses since 1996, but established Drexel Online in 2002 to administrate its online programs. The Lebow College offers the MBA anywhere, a two-year program, as well as a specialized MBA in Pharmaceutical Management/Healthcare. Both have organized cohorts to guide and support students through the program. At least two campus residencies are required, though students may opt for a third.
