In February 2006, the educational operations of three nationally-accredited distance learning institutions (The American Graduate School of Management, Sentinel University and the American College of Computer and Information Sciences) combined to create the American Sentinel University.
The American Sentinel University provides affordable distance learning programs for over 20 online undergraduate (Bachelor’s, Certificates, Associate) and graduate (Masters) degrees in the fields of technology, healthcare and business. American Sentinel also offers specialized online degree programs from Information Systems Security and Business Intelligence to GIS (Geographic Information System).
American Sentinel believes that quality education should be affordable thus the University charges one of the lowest tuition rate for online degrees. In addition, various financial assistance programs such as payment plans and micro-loans are also available to students.
Admission requirements include a completed application form, latest curriculum vitae (or list of professional accomplishments), transcript of records from previously attended academic institutions and completion of TOEFL and IELTS exams for students whose primary language is not English. Unlike most courses, American Sentinel University’s online programs do not have residency requirements.
Information on tuition and financial assistance as well as a more comprehensive list of admission requirements can be obtained by visiting the American Sentinel website or by contacting the University admissions office.
American Sentinel is accredited with the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC), listed by the US Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency and a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. In 2008, American Sentinel was included in the list of Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities.
