California State University at Bakersfield (CSUB) is part of the multi-campus California State University (CSU) system. Some of the other campuses are located in Santa Clarita, Hanford, and Lancaster California. The total number of campuses in the CSU system is 23 campuses. The California State University also has an online campus called the Extended University Division.
CSUB is proud to say that by 2014-15 the campus is expected to be the leading campus in the CSU system. CSUB also ranks as Tier 3 among the Best Master’s Universities in the West according to U.S. News & World Report 2010 “America’s Best Colleges” edition.
CSUB’s Extended University division currently offers three online degree programs:
● B.S. in Environmental Resource Management;
● M.S. Administration; and
● MA. in Education: Curriculum & Instruction.

Tuition for online undergraduate programs range from $130-150 per credit hour. For graduate programs tuition ranges from $160-$175 per credit hour.
Financial aid at California State University is awarded both according to need and merit. Financial aid is available in the form grants, loans, scholarships and work-study programs.
CSUB is regionally accredited by the Senior College Commission of the Western Associate of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Six of CSUB’s programs (Teacher Preparation Program, Nursing Program, undergraduate and graduate programs in Business Administration, Master of Public Administration and the Master of Science in Administration and Health Care Management) are also accredited by national accrediting organizations.
