University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) is a campus of the 4-year public, co-ed institution, University of Minnesota. UMC is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It has earned a reputation for being among the best educational institutions in the United States and has been ranked by the Princeton Review to be one of the “Best Midwestern Colleges” for four consecutive years. It has also consistently made it to US News and World Report’s “Best College” list since 1998.
UMC is also known for its online programs, having earned a 10-year accreditation, blanket approval for Online Degrees from the Higher Learning Commission in 2006. It has also earned numerous reviews from publications for its technology initiatives and was named “Most Wired College in America” by Yahoo! Internet Life Online in 2000.
Currently, online degree programs offered by UMC are in the fields of Accounting, Applied Health, Applied Studies, Business Management, Marketing, Manufacturing Management, and Manufacturing Management with focus on Quality Management. It also offers online non-degree courses in the same fields. Students enrolled in the online degree programs are given priority for enrollment to all the online non-degree courses, although students interested in taking available just one or more standalone online courses can also enroll in the online online classes.
Admission requirements vary per program. For details on admission requirements, contact UMC’s Admissions Office. Tuition for online programs is currently listed at $305.08 per credit for students taking 12 units or less per semester. Tuition for those taking 13 credits or more is $3,966.05, plus fees. A an online fee of $30 per credit is also assessed for all online programs, as well as a $65 per credit University fee. The University fee has a cap of $600.
Financial aid is available to help offset the cost of education in the form of grants, scholarships, and loans (Federal and private).
