University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is a private research institution located in Los Angeles, California. It may be among oldest independent teaching and research universities in California and the west, but it still manages to keep up with the best educational institutions in the United States. It does this in part by being very selective and is in fact ranked by the US News and World Report to be among the “most selective universities”.
Though highly selective in its admissions process, USC believes in helping people pursue their education. This is why their Continuing Education and Professional Studies Department offers online programs that will suit the needs of busy professionals. The online courses available through USC’s Continuing Education and Professional Studies Department are of the same quality as face-to-face versions of the programs except that everything is taken at the pace of the student. Some examples of online short courses available at USC include Effective Negotiations and the Power of Persuasion, Media & Entertainment: Branding and Integrated Marketing, Understanding Finance and Accounting, and Process Improvement in Health Care.
Aside from the online continuing education courses, USC’s Rossier School of Education also offers two online graduate programs: the online Master of Arts in Teaching program, and the Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
Admission to the Rossier School of Education is required to enter the Master’s programs, although formal admissions to USC is not needed for registration to the online continuing education courses.
Tuition fee for the online short courses is typically $975 per course. For details on tuition, fees, and financial aid on the online Master of Arts programs, it is best to contact the Rossier School of Education.
USC is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
