Neumann University is a private, Catholic, coeducational learning institution founded and sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia. Since it is run in the Franciscan tradition, its programs place emphasis on respect for individuals, social responsibility and concern for the environment. It credits its beginnings to Our Lady of Angels College which opened in 1965. It adapted its present name in 1980 in honor of Bishop John Neumann who played a significant role in assisting the Order of Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia. It achieved university status in 2009.
The university campus is located at One Neumann Drive, Aston, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the heart of Delaware Valley, making Philadelphia’s sports, cultural and historic activities very accessible from the campus. Other nearby points of interest include the cultural offerings of Wilmington, Delaware and the beaches of New Jersey and Delaware.
From the original number of 115 students in 1965, Neumann University now has more than 3,000 students. At least 750 of these students utilize on-campus housing facilities. There are three Living and Learning Centers on campus serving the housing needs of the students. Student/faculty ratio is 14:1.
Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, Neumann University offers undergraduate, graduate and adult programs. The areas of study at the undergraduate level include Accounting, Arts, Production and Performances, Athletic Training, Biological Science, Business Administration, Communication and Media Arts, Computer and Information Management, Criminal Justice, Education, English, Environment Studies and Education, International Business/International Studies, Liberal Arts, Marketing, Nursing, Political Science, Psychology and Sports Management. Graduate programs are provided in Education, Nursing, Pastoral Care and Counseling, Physical Therapy, Sports Management and Strategic Leadership. Graduate tuition ranges from $ 570.00 to $ 809.00 per credit hour. Full-time undergraduate tuition costs $ 10,290.00 per semester.
