Founded in 1956, the University of the Southwest is a private, Christian university in Hobbs, New Mexico. Originally Baptist, the university is now inter-denominational, with an explicitly Christ-centered approach to higher education. Highly ranked as a regional university by US News and World Report, the University of the Southwest has a tradition of education shaped by Christian theology.
The University of the Southwest offers an accredited online Master of Science in Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. For students who already have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, the MS in Education can prepare educators not only for classroom practice and theory, but also curriculum development, administration, and assessment. The program takes 45 credit hours. All coursework is online, with practicum in the student’s home area.

Tuition for graduate courses is $544 per credit hour. Financial aid is available to qualifying students through federal student loans and grants; part-time students may also qualify for financial aid.
