Ozark Christian College is a private, non-profit, Christian learning institute located in Joplin, Missouri. Founded in 1942 in Bentonville, Arkansas, the college is affiliated with the Restoration Movement Christian Churches/Churches of Christ and was accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education in 1985.
As expressed in its mission statement, the goal of Ozark Christian College is “train men and women for Christian service.” This is realized via a comprehensive undergraduate program on Bible education that includes courses on the Bible, Christian History, ministry and other related topics. There are also courses on such topics as Music ministry and deaf ministry. Online courses are also offered to students who require a little more flexibility in their schedule. Although there are no degree programs available online as of yet, a great deal of the core courses are already accessible via the Internet.
Athletics are included in the school curriculum and there are sports teams on baseball, soccer, volleyball and basketball for men and women.
Estimated cost of attendance for one semester of academic year 2010-2011 using average rates is US$6,930 broken down into fulltime tuition cost for 15 credit hours of US$4,200; cost for 12-meal plan of US$895; cost of double room of US$1,090; parking fee of US$20; student service fee of US$250; room deposit US$75; and estimate on books at US$400. To help defray cost of attendance, the college extends financial aid in the form of loans, grants and scholarships to qualified students.
On-campus housing is available at Ozark. Students enrolled in eight or more hours of classes are, in fact, required to live in residential halls.
