Mount Saint Mary’s College is a liberal arts institution comprised of two historic college campuses. Traditional bachelor’s degrees in the arts, humanities, natural and social sciences, business administration and nursing programs are offered in its Chalon College Campus found in Brentwood. The Doheny College Campus in downtown Los Angeles, on the other hand, offers programs leading to degrees in Associate in Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Master’s and Teacher Credential Programs, the MBA Program and the Doctor of Physical Therapy. The Chalon Campus is specifically located at 12001 Chalon Rd., Los Angeles, California while the Doheny Campus is found at 10 Chester Place, Los Angeles, California.
Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1925, its early classes were held at St. Mary’s Academy at Slauson and Crenshaw Boulevards in downtown Los Angeles. It built its Chalon Campus in 1928 and it’s Doheny Campus in 1962. The college provides undergraduate education for women as well as graduate programs for both men and women. Mount Saint Mary’s College holds the distinction of being the only Catholic college in the Western US primarily catering to women.
Total number of students is 2,480 including undergraduate and graduate students. About 69% of students live on campus while only 3% are men enrolled in music and nursing programs. Room and board fees range from $ 4,405.00 per semester for a quad room to $ 5,930.00 per semester for a private room full bath. Other options are available in price ranges in between.
Undergraduate students are charged $ 27,840.00 per year for tuition and fees for 12 to 18 credit load per semester. Credits in excess of 18 are charged $ 1,160.00 per credit. Part-time students are charged the same rate per credit. The Weekend College Program costs $ 575.00 per unit while Graduate Studies cost $ 708.00 per credit. The Accelerated BSN course costs approximately $ 17,125.00 per semester inclusive of tuition and fees.
