Clarion University, located in Clarion, Pennsylvania, is part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). Founded in 1867, Clarion is a small university with a favorable student-instructor ratio, allowing Clarion students much more personal attention than a large university, with the quality of the Pennsylvania State system.
Clarion offers an accredited online Master of Education in Early Childhood for certified teachers who already have a BS in some education field. The M.Ed. requires 30-32 credit hours, with 12 core curriculum hours, 12 hours in a concentration, and 6 elective hours. Early Childhood concentration courses include instruction in curriculum development, health, leadership, and assessment.

Tuition for non-Pennsylvania resident online courses is $593 per credit hour, including fees. Students may qualify for federal student loans up to $20,000 per year, and scholarships and grants may be available. Students in Early Childhood Education may qualify for the Earl R Siler Scholarship.
