Mid-America Nazarene University (MNU) is a Christian learning environment which conducts itself in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. It was founded in 1966 and held its first classes in 1968 with a total enrollment of 263. Located at 2030 E. College Way, Olathe, Kansas, it is run by a Board of Trustees elected from different districts of the North Central Region of the Church of the Nazarene including Kansas, Kansas City, Iowa, Joplin, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and Dakota.
Offering more than 40 undergraduate majors and graduate programs in Business, Education, Counseling and Nursing, Mid-America Nazarene University is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It is authorized to award associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees to its students. Specific programs have additional accreditations from surrounding agencies.
Mid-America Nazarene University structure is comprised of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Education, School of Business, School of Nursing and Health Science and School of Religion and Philosophy. Other courses are offered through the Graduate and Adult Studies Program and the Adult and Continuing Education Program. Program delivery options include on-site, on-line and advance learning facilities. Mid-America Nazarene University maintains a satellite site in Liberty, Missouri to bring its programs to the Northland Area. Offered programs include Bachelor’s Degree Completion, Master of Education, RN to BSN, MBA and MA in Organizational Administration.
Annual direct educational costs include $ 19,250.00 for tuition, $ 1,000.00 for on-campus fees and $ 6,750.00 for room and board. Estimated cost of books and supplies is $ 800.00. Other expected expenses include personal and transportation expenses as well as miscellaneous fees. Credits beyond 17 are charged $ 645.00 per credit hour. Summer tuition also costs $ 645.00 per credit hour.
