Mount Olive College is a private liberal arts institution sponsored by the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists. It opened in 1952 as the Mount Allen Junior College using the summer retreat grounds of the Free Will Baptist known as the Cragmont Assembly. It transferred to Mount Olive, North Carolina in 1953 and soon became the Mount Olive Junior College. It officially adapted its present name in 1970. It is located at 634 Henderson Street, Mount Olive, North Carolina.

Aside from its main campus, the college offers its programs in several locations including Goldsboro, Jacksonville, New Bern, the Research Triangle Park, Washington and Wilmington, North Carolina. Its Goldsboro Extension Campus is located at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. The addresses of the other extension campuses are as follows: Jacksonville Campus- 201 Parkwood Drive, Jacksonville, NC; New Bern Campus – 2912 Trent Road, New Bern, NC; Research Center Park – 5001 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC; Washington Campus – 4525 Hwy. 264 West, Washington, NC; and the Wilmington Campus – 1838 Sir Tyler Drive, Wilmington, NC;. These locations allow 700 traditional students and more than 3,800 working adults who are presently enrolled in the college’s various programs to work on their educational goals.

Mount Olive College offers its programs through its three schools: the Tillman School of Business, the School of Arts and Sciences and School of Professional Studies. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Areas of study include Arts and Visual Communication, History and Social Studies, Language and Literature, Music, Religion, Science and Mathematics, Accounting, Business Management, Computer Information Systems, Human Resource Management, Agribusiness, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Recreation/Leisure Studies and Teacher Education.

An on-campus resident student is charged an estimated cost of $ 9,973.00 inclusive of tuition, housing and the 5-meal plan. Evening college students are charged a tuition rate of $ 350.00 per credit hour. Commuter students are charged a tuition rate of $ 7,223.00.
