Located near Orlando Florida, the Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences (FLCHS) is an academic institution that specialises in providing allied health and nursing education. The college is run by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and is associated with Florida Hospital and the Adventist Health System.
FLCHS offers three certificate programs, six Associate of Science programs, four Bachelor of Science programs, and a Master of Science degree in Nurse Anesthesia. Majority of these courses are offered on campus and only three of the Bachelor of Science Programs (majoring in Diagnostic Medical Sonography; Nursing; and Radiologic Sciences) are available through distance education or online.
For academic year 2010 2011, tuition at FLCHS costs between $300.00 to $400.00 per credit hour. Tuition may change without prior notice and fees indicated usually do not include any incidental costs, such as books, laboratory fees, uniforms, etc. which may be required to complete a program. To reduce financial strain, financial aid in the form of grants, scholarships, and loans are available to qualified students. Generally, the costs involved in completing an online undergraduate course (tuition, matriculation fee and application free) are the same as completing the degree on campus.
To apply for admission, FHCHS will need the official high school transcript or GED scores, official ACT/SAT score report, 2 recommendations and payment of the $20.00 application fee. Students who wish to enroll in distance education are encouraged to contact the FHCHS Off-Site Admissions Centre in order to commence on the application process. The Southern Association of Colleges and School accredit Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. Specific programs are also accredited or recognized by their respective accrediting or licensing bodies.
