Mount Aloysius College (MAC) is a Catholic learning institution which was founded and sponsored by the Religious Sisters of Mercy. It traces its origins to the Mount Aloysius Junior College founded in 1939 which had its charter amended in 1991 to include bachelor degrees and in 2000 to include the master’s degrees. It is located at 7373 Admiral Peary Highway, Cresson, Pennsylvania.
Approximately 2,000 students are currently enrolled with Mount Aloysius College including 1,200 full-time undergraduate students and 800 part-time undergraduate and graduate students. The average class size is 18 while student/faculty ratio is 14:1. More than 60 full-time members comprise its faculty with all classes benefitting from being handled by professors instead of graduate assistants.
Over 50 academic programs are offered in the undergraduate and graduate levels in Business Administration, Natural and Applied Science, Social Science, Education, Humanities, Health Sciences and Nursing as well as Professional Study. More than 20 concentrations and minors are offered. The campus is fully networked with high speed Internet access and provides more than 25 Smart Classrooms for students’ use.
Campus visits can be done by prospective students through small group presentations, open houses or individual visits. The Mount Aloysius College Library is located in a 31,000 square-foot facility and offered extensive resources that fully support the educational and research missions of the college. A variety of non-credit, professional development and children’s summer camps are also offered.
Full-time annual tuition for degree programs in Biology, Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences, Nursing and Physical Therapist Assistant cost $ 18,740.00. Degree programs in the Arts, Business, General Science, Professional Studies, Medical Assistant, Physical Technology and all other programs cost $ 16,580.00 per year. Comprehensive fee costs $ 700.00 per year.
