Pennsylvania College of Technology or Penn College is a small college located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1941 as the Williamsport Technical Institute although it had already existed as early as 1914 as an adult education and training facility. In 1965, the Williamsport Area Community College was born and superseded the former technical institute. The college continued providing technical education for residents of the state until 1989 when the college became an affiliate of Pennsylvania State University and changed its name to Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Today, there are around 6,400 students enrolled at Penn College working towards an Associate or Bachelor’s degree. The student to faculty ratio is 20 to 1 with average class size no bigger than 17 students. Penn College is organized according to the following academic divisions: School of Business & Computer Technologies, School of Construction & Design Technologies, School of Health Sciences, School of Hospitality, School of Industrial & Engineering Technologies, School of Integrated Studies, School of Natural Resources Management and School of Transportation Technology.

Cost of attendance for 2009-2010 is US$21,530 for students who are residents of Pennsylvania enrolled in a fulltime load of 15 credits per semester and who are living on campus. This cost includes full-year tuition of US$12,480, housing rental of US$5,350, cost of meals at US$2,700 and estimated cost of books and supplies at US$1,000. For fulltime students who are not residents of Pennsylvania, the cost of tuition is US$15,630 plus the same rate for room and board and books and supplies. Financial aid in the form of loans, grants and work-study programs is extended to help students pay for their cost of attendance.
